Hopi Ear Candles
Hopi ear candles can be used for many problems and conditions associated with the ear, nose and throat. The client lays their head to the side and the candle is lightly placed and held throughout treatment. The candle produces a light suction action and the movement of the flame creates a vibration of the air within the ear candle which generates a massage like effect on the eardrum. This induces a pleasant feeling of warmth and a balance of pressure in the ears, forehead and nose helping earaches, headaches, releasing sinus blockages. The benefits of hopi ear candles can be felt directly after the treatment as a soothing, pressure and pain relieving sensation mainly in the ears and head area, it can also aid breathing and improve the sense of smell. The contents of the candles are examined after treatment to see how effective the treatment has been and how further treatments should proceed. Ear Candle Therapy can help to alleviate:

  • Sore throats and hay fever

Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic drainage is a form of detoxification and you need to drink plenty of water to help get the toxins out of the body, drinking water before and after having lymphatic drainage. Treatment is completed with subtle massage moves activating the lymph which helps function the immune and parasympathetic nervous system. A well functioning lymph system contributes to healthy body tissue and boosts the body’s immune system responses.

The predominant fluid in your body is lymphatic fluid. This fluid carries nutrients from the food you eat and oxygen from the air you breathe. It also carries toxic poisons, bacteria, cholesterol and viruses away from the cells in your body. Our lymphatic system is primarily responsible for carrying disease-fighting material to cells. When the lymphatic system is blocked, we become defenceless against attacks by virus, fungi, and bacteria.

Many immune processes occur in the lymph nodes. If the pathways become congested, blocked, damaged or severed, then fluids can build up in the connective tissue leading to edema and swelling. This can lead to abnormalities in the cells and tissues. If there are any abnormalities in the tissues, then it is the role of the lymphatic system to transport the damaged cells, inflammatory products and toxins away from the area. The quicker this happens, the faster recovery will be. This is where Lymphatic Drainage can make a difference, the gentle technique enhances and stimulates the lymphatic system to drain stagnant fluids, detoxify, regenerate tissues, filter out toxins and foreign substances. Lymphatic drainage can be completed on both the face and body.

Chakra
The word ‘Chakra” represents the centre of spiritual power in your body. It’s mainly used in Yoga practice. Chakras are energy centres or points used in various energy healing techniques such as Acupuncture and Yoga. The body is said to be having 7 chakra points which help a lot in the free flow of energy known as “pranic” energy which is said to be passing through everything in life.

The seven chakra points are said to be lying along the spine. They act as bridges between the physical world and the spiritual world. They are the 7 points through which your life energy flows. The life energy is known as “Chi” in Chinese language.

Chakra stones are unique crystals or gemstones used for healing purposes. They are mainly used by many energy healers in dealing with unbalanced chakra points in the human life. When they are applied to the corresponding chakra points in the body, proper revitalization of such points is realized. There are 7 unique chakra stones corresponding to the 7 chakra points of the human body.

I am able to complete treatments at a client’s home or work place, offering corporate reflexology and I also have access to a treatment room (rent to pay) which is available close to Broadwater Children Centre. Here I can offer treatments to parents, new parents, new mums and mums to be. I aim to work closely with the nearby Retirement Homes and Care Homes where treatments are strongly able to help clients feel good and well being with the aid of touch. If the client has not had close contact with someone for a period of time by completing hand reflexology, touching their hands and giving time to a client, one to one contact can help the client to feel special. This also helps people in retirement homes and care homes where if they are suffering from illness or diseases they are able to feel wanted and special.

There are several other CAM therapists in Stevenage and the surrounding area but not offering their service to the same clients as Herts Reflex - mums, retirement and care homes. By talking to other therapists via internet forums the market place offering such services is not a competitive market, therapists talk to each other asking for advice, assistance and meet regularly at monthly / quarterly arranged meetings.
